How much of caffeine is not harmful during pregnancy

It has been determined that pregnant women can consume upto 300 mg of coffee per day. An average contains about 100 to 200 mg of caffeine.

Can you consume caffeine after giving birth

It has been found that even after giving birth, its better to stop taking caffeine till you are breast feeding your baby. The main reason is that your child start becoming irritable since they are unable to digest caffeine efficiently.

What should you do?

It is always better to stop taking caffeine while you are pregnant. Coffee contains excess caffeine and it’s better to stop consuming coffee immediately. For those who cannot stop taking caffeine, its better that you make sure that you do not consume more than 300 mg per day. If you find that you are not getting adequate weight during the pregnancy period, your habit of intake of caffeine could be a reason.

You need to stop consuming all sorts of foods that contain caffeine. They include chocolate, cocoa-based preparations like cakes, coffee, fizzy drinks, etc.

Also make sure that any product that you consume does not contain significant quantities of caffeine.

It’s better to consume tea compared to coffee. Tea is a much better drink compared to coffee.

Be aware that it’s not coffee alone that contains caffeine. Following are some of the products that contain caffeine:

Tea
Black tea
Ice tea
Coke, Pepsi, 7-up, Sprite,etc
Aerated drinks
Red bull
Dark chocolate
Milk chocolate
Coffee based ice creams
Herbal tea
Soda
