Hair Loss Concerns - Why they are increasing?

Hair loss is a common phenomenon to observe these days because of the environmental pollution, dirt and the synthetic procedures which are considered by majority of the people for styling and dying purposes. Millions of the people from all across the world regardless of any age group and gender are confronting the concerns of consistent hair loss.

Hair have a natural cycle and process of growing out from the beginning within the scalp. They grow for about an inch or two because a complete growing phase lasts for about five to six years. After being consistent for a while, the development of hair follicles becomes dormant for a while. Once the hair falls from your hair, the procedure resumes once again.

There could be a lot of things causing poor growth and development of hair within your hair follicles. Most of the causes comprise of the hormone imbalance and hormonal shifting with regards to the shift in the ages. Androsteinedione, testosterone, and dihydrotestosterone are some of the chief hormones that are present within your body for the care and maintenance of the hair. If the glandular system of your body is insufficient and ineffective in producing the hormones, you might be going through the consequences of hair fall and according to the latest surveys, it has been concluded that hormonal imbalances are the major source behind the increasing hair loss concerns.

Hair loss you are observing can be because o some specific reasons or sometimes you actually don’t know issue until you really observe rapid and consistent hair fall. Certain autoimmune system disorders can also result in inflammation of scalp leading to removal of hair patches and strands. Hair loss in humans particularly females is also observed during and after consequences such as emotional trauma, childbirth, surgery, "crash" dieting, anemia, thyroid conditions, and certain medications.

If you are possibly going through a lot of stress, you are more prone to lose hair strands from your scalp. Your hypertension levels and other hormones that are dependant on the growth and development are really affected leading to extreme hair fall. Taking regular vitamins and proteins within your diet can cure this concern for you.

It is better for an individual to take care of his/her hair loss concerns as soon as the condition is diagnosed and identified because precaution is far better then treatments.

Health and Medicinal Benefits of having Oil Bath

What is Oil Bath
All of us have Oil bath at some time or the other. But the duration and the method of having bath varies widely around the world. Oil Bath is a very common phenomenon found widely in South India and especially in Tamil Nadu. Oil bath has been a tradition found from ancient times especially as part of Ashtanga tradition. Now with changing patterns, people often have bath without having their head getting wet. Most of the people have bath from head to toe only once in a week and on auspicious festivals like Diwali.

Here, I have written about the importance of having oil bath and the medicinal and health benefits that we enjoy because of it.

Types of Oil Bath

There are mainly two types of oil bath:

Head Oil Bath: Means applying oil in the head and waiting for atleast 5 minutes before taking bath from head to toe either in shower or in a tub.

Body Massage and Oil Bath: This means you apply oil over the entire body and do some massage as per your convenience and then taking a full body bath.

Head only Oil Bath
Take any of the desired oils mentioned above. Apply it over the head and massage it lightly. Leave it for 5 minutes. Then have bath in warm water and then wipe with towel.

Some people may feel that shikkakai or shampoo needs to be used when taking oil bath. It is not necessary. I used to have oil bath daily without shampoo or shikkakai. I take bath with shampoo or shikkakai only once in a week. Once you apply shampoo or shikkakai, the oil in the hair gets removed and your hair will be left dry.

Full Body Oil Bath
People in south India used to have this once in a week. Apply oil especially sesame oil from head to toe and massage it. Leave it for 20 minutes. Then have head bath with Shikkakai or shampoo.

Types of Oil Used for Oil Bath
There are various types of oils that are being used.

Coconut Oil: This is the main type of oil which has been widely used by most of the people. It is very commonly available in all stores.

Sesame Oil: This is very effective oil which most people use but only occasionally. Few people have it regularly once in a week.

Medicated Oil: In some houses, people prepare medicated oil with coconut oil as base. The ingredients used are Karuveppilai or curry leaves, maruthani or henna leaves, sembaruthi or hibiscus flowers and leaves. The ingredients are taken, ground to form a paste and then dried in sun. It is then boiled in coconut oil and stored. This can be used regularly.

Herbal Oils: There are a number of herbal oils available in the market like Hibiscus thailam, Vatika oil, etc.

Ayurvedic Thailams: There are a number of Ayurvedic thailams available in the market. It is better to consult a doctor to identify the right type of oil that suits your body. The most famous are: Neelibringhadi Thailam, Kumkumadi Thailam , Thriphladi Thailam, etc

Health Benefits of having Oil Bath

Problems faced due to Oil Bath
The main problem that most of the people face is that they have been accustomed to some habit and it is really difficult to change the habits. Even the few persons who try to inhabit new activities like taking a herbal oil bath once a week face problems like getting infected with cold, feeling tired, etc.

It is important that those who want to inculcate new habits need to start slowly and with caution. Taking a sudden bath with large quantity of Hibiscus may leave you with cold and headache. It is better to take a very small quantity of such oil initially and then wait and see what happens. Once your body accepts it, it is better to make it a habit.

Precautions
If you infected with cold or fever, do not have oil bath
Pregnant people need to consult a physician before taking oil bath
It is better to have oil bath in soft water. Hard water removes the benefits from reaching the body.

Choosing Between Silicone and Saline Implants For Your Breast Enlargement Surgery

When planning for a breast enlargement surgery, there are a few things you should consider and decide before undergoing the procedure. One of the most important - and the biggest - choices you need to make is deciding on the implants type: silicone or saline? In order to make the best decision, it's important to know the characteristics of each and also their differences.

Silicone Implants
Silicone is essentially a gel-like filling that mimics the look and the feel of human breast tissue. Unlike saline implants, silicone isn't naturally found in our body. This can cause serious risks even if a small leak goes unobserved. Ruptured silicone can easily spread to vital parts of the body - for example, lungs - and it can be practically impossible to remove. As a result, you should get an MRI every a couple of years to detect possible leaks. Due to its higher risks, FDA bumped the minimal age of silicon implants uses to 22 years old.

Silicone is highly popular among women - particularly those with thinner breast tissue - seeking the most natural breasts possible. Silicone gel is exceptionally close in texture and consistency of natural breast tissue.
Silicone bags are usually filled before the surgery. As a result, you may need to have a large incision, usually at the lower part of the breast.

Saline Implants
Unlike silicone implants, they are filled with concentrated salt water solution which is very similar to body fluid. They are commonly thought as the safer choice, mainly for their harmless content. If the implant was to rupture or leak, the fluid would spread through your body naturally and rapidly. Also, because the implant is fluid-based, it will deflate noticeably and quickly, allowing you to contact the doctor and correct the issue. In fact, FDA is confident enough with this implant that they set a low age requirement of eighteen years old.

One of the biggest advantages to saline implants is the choice you may make regarding to the incision sites. Saline implants are inflated once they are in proper position, so incisions are usually smaller. Depending on your budget, preferences and surgeon's skill- you may have an incision near the underarm and perhaps under the breast. Talk with the plastic surgeon about this matter.

In regards to how "natural" saline implants make you feel and look, much of that depends upon the woman's size and shape. Slender women with thinner muscle may complain that their breasts feel like water balloons. In addition, if saline implants manage to "ripple", you'll have an unexpected aesthetic problem. There have been a few cases where ripples are noticeable, especially in thinner women. Advances in plastic surgery techniques have allowed for sub-muscular adjustment of saline implants, to boost its "natural" looks.

Whatever your personal preference and budget, it is essential to discuss the best implant type with the plastic surgeon. The surgeon should be able to clear any doubts and answer your questions, while helping you making the best decision possible.

Nail Anti Fungal Treatments: For Better or For Worst?

Finding out that you have a fungus is just as traumatic as finding out that you have a serious health problem. In the United States, approximately 35 million people suffer from nail fungus, otherwise known as Onychomycosis, the medical term for the nail fungal infection. There may be more sufferers out there who are simply too embarrassed to divulge their condition to the public and a much higher proportion has not sought medical attention.

Adults are the most common targets of fungal nail infection. This condition hardly ever affects children. But fungal nail infections can strike anytime and spare no specific group of people. Studies show that men get infected more often than women. The toenails and fingernails provide an almost-too-perfect location for the bacteria that causes fungal infection. The nail bed is particularly perfect because this type of fungus that affects the nails loves warm, damp and dark environments. Infection can spread to other parts like from toenail to toenail, fingernail to fingernail and even from toenail to the groin and to other parts of the body. This infection can also spread from person to person through direct contact of the infected object or area.

Nail anti fungal treatments are all around. If the primary signs of nail fungus are prominent, it is highly-recommended that you resort to nail anti fungal treatments immediately. Among the signs that you should look out for are usually a slight distortion of the nail, changes in color, usually yellowish or brownish, and a foul smell under the nails. If the first signs are noticed early enough, nail anti fungal home remedies or homeopathic cure can stop the infection and kill the bacteria before it starts spreading.

There are quite a few popular nail or homeopathic cures that have been proven to be quite effective in treating the initial symptoms of fungal infections. Some of the most common nail anti fungal home remedies are Vicks Vaporub, Listerine and Apple Cider Vinegar.

Apple Cider Vinegar has been proven to be the most successful among the above mentioned nail anti fungal remedies. Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV, when applied directly to and under the nail, causes a change in the environmental acidity of the location where the fungus is thriving. This change of acidity stops the reproduction and growth of the fungus. Patience is a virtue when it comes to using these anti fungal home remedies because it does take some time for them to take effect. The mildest form of nail fungus usually takes several weeks or months for the treatment to work.

Majority of individuals who suffer from fungal nail infection prefer to keep it a secret, usually hiding it by wearing closed shoes and socks or by coating it with a thick layer of nail polish. But when worse comes to worst and the fungal infection is hard to conceal, the infected are forced to take action. For severe nail fungus infections, the infected person will most likely seek the help of a medical physician and will most likely be prescribed with anti fungal medications such as Lamisil, Sporanox, Penlac and Diflucan. These medications are strong enough to reduce the spread of infection and inhibit the visible signs. Although some prescription medications have caused far worse side effects than cure them. If one prefers to use oral medications, the infected person should be forewarned beforehand that they can also cause more serious adverse effects such as liver damage and the like.
